The contractor can provide an estimate at any stage of the design by extracting accurate quantities from the design model. Design Estimating allows the user to identify objects that have been previously estimated. If a design changes, the technology provides clear tracking allowing multiple estimates to be compared against each other. Historically, estimates based on design were subject to interpretation and was very time consuming. If changes occurred, then the process had to be redone which could cause a delay based on the time intensive process to produce a new estimate.
