Building data from the design model such as building location coordinates or GIS (Geographic Information System) information can be downloaded directly into surveying equipment. Further detailed 2D extractions from the model can also be produced to give the field more detailed and dimensioned information than the contract documents show. Traditionally, interpretation of the design can cause errors in layout.
